Can We Still Be Optimistic About the Future?
Open to discover Judaism’s radical vision of redemption — and what it asks of us now.
This course does not treat redemption as fantasy or escape. It asks what Judaism’s vision of a healed world reveals about our relationships, our anxieties, our ambitions, our habits and our souls. We will explore original Jewish texts to discover what a redeemed future teaches us about the present, and what a transformed world might reveal about being truly human.
Sundays · 11:00 AM – 12:00 noon · starting November 8
831 Maple Rd., Williamsville, NY 14221

Now in its 28th year. Courses are taught in a non-judgmental environment, with the utmost respect, in the belief that every Jewish adult is capable and deserving of learning the rich heritage of the Jewish people.
No background is assumed and no question is too basic. On the Sundays between courses the same slot runs as Perspective, a shorter class on the coming holidays and the weekly portion.

A Jewish History Series
Pirates. Palaces. Pioneer families. The birth of Sephardic and Ashkenazic Jewry — from Babylonia, the centre of the Jewish world for centuries, to the golden age of Córdoba and the pioneer communities of Mainz, Worms and Speyer. One Torah, two great melodies, one Jewish story.
Completed in August 2026. The lessons were recorded — they are in the video library, along with everything else from the Institute.
It reveals who we still need to become. Starting Sunday, November 8 at 11:00 AM, at 831 Maple Rd., Williamsville.
